About Us

Hospital Pricing

To help our patients make informed decisions about their healthcare, Mercy Health is committed to providing information regarding hospital charges.

Whether you are enrolled in a government healthcare program (such as Medicare or Medicaid) or a commercial health plan, you will likely have some out-of-pocket costs associated with a hospital stay. The price for services provided is based on many factors that vary from hospital to hospital, including the costs of buying medications, surgical equipment and other supplies; powering and maintaining hospital buildings; paying highly-trained healthcare workers; and purchasing up-to-date medical technology.

The best way for patients to determine their out-of-pocket costs in advance of obtaining services is to contact their insurer. If you do not have health insurance coverage, a Mercy Health financial representative can assist you in obtaining medical benefits through federal, state and hospital programs and can help you determine if you will have any out-of-pocket costs.

Determining Your Out-of-Pocket Costs

Although each of our hospitals charges all of its patients the same prices for the same services, the amount you will pay depends on the type of coverage you have.
  • If you have commercial health insurance, please contact your insurance company to obtain an estimate of what you will pay for a specific procedure.
  • If you have Medicaid, you may be asked to pay a small portion of the cost of some medical services depending on the Medicaid rules in your state. Learn more at Medicaid.gov.
  • If you do not have coverage, please call your hospital’s billing department and ask to speak with a financial representative who will assist you in obtaining medical benefits through federal, state and hospital programs.
