Life Management Systems will customize an EAP Program to meet your unique human resources needs. A variety of service agreements are available. Normally, our EAP plans are capitated, with a fixed charge billed per employee per month or year, resulting in a fixed annual cost to the employer. We offer three primary EAP plans that differ primarily in the number of clinical sessions that are available to eligible individuals per presenting problem. Life Management Systems places no annual, lifetime or individual limits on how often the benefit may be utilized.
3-Session Model
This plan allows for thorough assessment of presenting concerns and, in most cases, assistance with referral(s) to appropriate community resources. While brief counseling is occasionally possible via this model, this plan is best suited to employers who offer robust behavioral health benefits to their employees and want EAP professionals available to assist with problem clarification and swift, efficient guidance to appropriate intervention services.
6-Session Model
This plan allows for about half of the concerns presented to the EAP to be substantively resolved within the EAP setting without referral to outside resources. The expanded brief counseling afforded by the 6-session plan is ideal for resolution of mild to moderately severe behavioral health issues such as marital counseling and adjustment to significant life changes.
8-Session Model
Perhaps best suited to workforces with large numbers of uninsured or marginally insured workers, the 8-session plan further expands, to roughly 65%, the percentage of EAP clients who resolve their presenting concerns within the EAP context absent external referral. However, the average EAP client will not use 8 sessions even if available, a factor that employers should consider when selecting the plan best suited to its needs.
Of course, no EAP can claim to resolve every concern presented. Issues calling for medical care (including evaluations for psychotropic medication), long-term intervention, chronic illness, specialized services involving legal/financial issues, and other areas beyond the professional bounds of a typical EAP clinician all call for referral outside of the EAP. However, the EAP is still a great place to start, as our clinicians are expert and assessing needs and matching them to the best, most readily available community services.
