Joe Wilkerson
Director of Tennis

Joe has been with the HealthPlex for 9 years. He has 24 years of playing experience and 16 years of teaching experience. Joe played number one on his high school tennis team and was a doubles finalist for the Virginia State High School Championships. Joe played tennis at Methodist University where he also helped coach the women’s tennis team. He has an undergraduate degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Professional Tennis Management. Joe is a PTR Professional, USPTA P1 professional and a certified wheelchair instructor. He has taught and managed programs in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina. Joe is the former Head Tennis Coach at Saint Ursula Academy and a four time Coach of the Year. He is currently on the Greater Cincinnati Tennis Associations Management Board and USPTA state president.

Frederic Sanchez
Associate Head Professional

Frederic has been with the Mercy HealthPlex Team for 10 years. He is originally from Tours, France and played tennis at the Bollettieri Tennis Academy. Frederic has more than 20 years of teaching experience and 30 years of playing experience. He was previously the Director of Tennis for the prestigious Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy in Belgium before joining the HeathPlex. Frederic is a USPTA certified professional and teaches both adults and juniors.

John Jayson
Tennis Professional

John recently retired from a professional education career that included teaching positions in Livonia Public Schools, Deer Park Community Schools, and Cincinnati Public Schools.  He had a strong desire to rekindle his passion for teaching and coaching tennis and joined the professional tennis staff at the HealthPlex in 2011.  He has extensive experience in teaching, coaching, and playing tennis.  He supervised summer tennis programs for elementary and secondary students and taught adult tennis classes for 7 years.  He coached high school varsity boys tennis teams in Livonia, Michigan that accumulated a 60 and 10 won-loss record over four years.  These teams achieved three league championships, one regional championship, and qualified four players for the state finals tournament.  He also had more than 30 years of playing experience that included winning several local singles and doubles tournaments in the Detroit Metropolitan area.   He received tennis teaching and coaching training from workshops conducted by Dennis Van Der Meer, Vic Braden, and the tennis coaching staff from the University of Michigan.

Brad Koesters
Tennis Professional

Brad Koesters has been teaching tennis in the Greater Cincinnati area for about 5 years.  He was captain for the Moeller Crusaders Varisty Tennis Team for three years and won the GCTCA Coaches Classic Singles Tournament twice.  Brad attended the Ohio State University where he was captain of the Buckeye's Mens Tennis Club Team.  Brad has a passion for working with competitive juniors of all ages and enjoys teaching adult players of all levels.
