Spiritual Care

The Jewish Hospital

Spiritual Care

As partners in your care, we strive to take care of your body, mind and spirit. The Spiritual Care Team at The Jewish Hospital is made up of professional clergy, chaplain interns and lay volunteers. All of our team members are specially trained to address a wide range of spiritual and religious needs so we can support you and your loved ones during your time at The Jewish Hospital.

The Spiritual Care Team values religious diversity and that which gives people strength and comfort.

Our spiritual care services include:
  • The Meditation Room, a multi-faith space where anyone is invited to spend time in reflection, prayer or silence.
  • The Meditation Room is located on the sixth floor off of the Tower elevators and is open 24 hours a day. You’ll also find a prayer request book in the Meditation Room.
  • A multi-faith service held Thursdays at 11 a.m. in the Meditation Room.
  • A variety of religious materials such as sacred text, devotional materials and ritual objects. We keep these items in the spiritual care office. Contact a member of the Spiritual Care Team if you are interested in any of these materials.
  • Volunteers who deliver the Eucharist, Jewish Sabbath and holiday rituals or Christian prayer, according to religious preference.
  • A Catholic priest who is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for sacramental needs. We also offer daily communion.
Any member of our hospital staff can page a chaplain, Mon. – Fri., 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. During other times, non-urgent messages can be left on voicemail at 513-686-5370. Calls will be returned the next business day.
