Wound Care
For most people, wound healing is a natural, uneventful process. But for some, it requires specialized treatment. For patients with diabetes or other conditions causing poor circulation, a non-healing wound can mean unending discomfort and the threat of serious complications.
At Mercy Health, we offer a comprehensive, customized approach to wound management and healing. Care is provided by a multidisciplinary medical staff, an experienced nursing staff and an extensive support team. Each patient receives a thorough health evaluation, followed by a treatment program designed for their individualized needs. The program includes treatment visits, education about caring for wounds at home and guidance on preventing future problems. This thorough approach has helped us achieve a healing rate of 96 percent.
The Wound Care Centers at Mercy Health provide hyperbaric oxygen chambers for the treatment of chronic wounds or serious infections.
